Bianka and Rаdа are a writer–illustrator duo from Sofia, Bulgaria, whose joint creative journey began in childhood and continues to thrive today.
Bianka crafts the stories, drawing on her passion for language, travel, and meaningful adventures, while Rada brings their visions to life with rich, expressive illustrations tailored to each book’s tone and audience. Their debut, Nirmala, inspired by Bianka’s travels in Indonesia, marked the beginning of their professional journey and quickly found a warm reception. They've gained the love of young readers and have now sold a few thousand copies of their books.
Today, their portfolio includes two distinct book series for different age groups - each praised for its artistic quality, emotional depth, and thoughtful storytelling. Their work has earned the trust of publishing houses and parents alike, standing out for its ability to resonate with children on multiple levels. Nirmala has even been recognized by educators, selected by teachers in a prestigious primary school as a mandatory read for the 9th-grade book club.
With a Master 1 degree in Communications in the Field of Cultural Industries from France, Bianka has always been drawn to the power of storytelling. From a young age, creative writing was "her thing", she crafted little stories, that later evolved into a travel blog and book ideas.
Professionally, she's focused more on project and account management, yet storytelling remains at the heart of everything she does. Her debut children’s book, Nirmala, inspired by months spent living in Indonesia, was warmly welcomed by parents, children and even primary-school teachers. So, naturally she wrote a second installment, called Bali Adventures. Later, while raising her first child Bianka was inspired to create a book series for preschoolers that combines some 90s-inspired childhood nostalgia with a modern aesthetic and a dose of magic.
Rаdа is a professional illustrator and designer. She also has experience teaching art to children aged 7 to 14, nurturing both their creativity and her own. Over the years, she has built a versatile creative career including work on various book projects.
Her on both the Bali series and the Park series shows big versatility, as she's moving effortlessly between styles suited for different age groups: from giving life to sweet characters in preschooler picture books to blending abstract forms with vivid, dreamlike interpretations of real Indonesian landscapes. In both cases emotional nuance is always present in her work, as she's deeply inspired by creative collaborations with authors.
